Reporting to the Metadata Supervisor, this position serves as a subject matter expert in series and related data elements as well as providing oversight to the systems and processes necessary for Series materials to include: researching, selecting and verifying appropriate titles and for the training, maintenance and ongoing workflow necessary to support the data driven demand for these materials. Responsible for monitoring and updating data sets to implement Series offerings for Collection Development and Cataloging. Identifies new series for FASTips and Series cuttering. Offers guidance as needed not only for series data but also for other related data elements such as age range, classification and descriptors. Updates data sets in Oracle including assigning contributors, Dewey and/or LC classification numbers, appropriate subject headings, geographic and cultural designators, Fiction genres, age ranges for juvenile materials, etc., pursuant to established coding guidelines and Library of Congress conventions. Maintains series and contributor tables and their associated aliases. Assists with data corrections, updates, edits and issues as necessary. Assists with other department/division projects and participates in cross-functional problem-solving teams as required.
