Met Lab Technician
About The Position
In this role, you will maintain a safe and clean work environment by following guidelines and procedures, and comply with all applicable regulations. You will assist in maintenance and calibration of lab equipment, as well you will maintain accurate records. In addition, you will have the ability to stand for long periods of time and maintain the highest quality standards is part of your role. You must work well and communicates clearly with others, including team members and internal customers. Further, you must be self-sufficient and focused on assigned duties. You must be able to work closely with Quality / Engineering / Operations on assigned tasks. In this role, you must be able to prioritize work to meet deadlines and be reliable to achieve assigned duties in a timely manner. Further, you will have the ability to work extended hours and/or weekends and holidays. You must have the ability to demonstrate acceptable manual dexterity.
Requirements
- High school diploma
- Ability to complete both PST/LAMT certification and week-long Metcut (CCL) training (off-site) prior to working independently (if not previously certified)
- Ability to prioritize work
- Ability to multi-task
- Action oriented
- Detail oriented
Nice To Haves
- Related lab experience
- Previous Metcut (CCL) certification
- PST / LAMT certification
- Prior coating experience
- Previous work experience with hazardous / chemical processes
- Experience working in a production / manufacturing and/or plant environment
- Knowledge of visual and dimensional inspection techniques
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings for sample preparation
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and office programs
