About The Position

Linde Advanced Material Technologies Inc. is seeking a Met Lab Technician for their North Haven, CT location. This role is responsible for preparing and evaluating various types of samples, including cubicle qualification samples (Tab samples), sample parts and customer hardware (Part cut ups), and physical properties such as hardness (Micro and Macro). The technician will operate standard lab equipment, maintain and calibrate it, and order necessary supplies. They will also perform quality evaluations of standard coatings, identify issues, and report findings. Accurate record-keeping is essential for all tasks.

Requirements

High School Diploma / GED required.
Ability to complete Linde Metallurgical Technician Training and maintain certification.
Ability to perform quality evaluations of standard coatings and basic investigations into metallurgical issues at a level typically acquired through a minimum of 5 years' related lab experience.
Ability to work extended hours and/or weekends and holidays as needed.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to pass a vision test.
Must be either a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder) or otherwise classifiable as a U.S. person under relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

Prepare and evaluate cubicle qualification samples (Tab samples).
Prepare and evaluate sample parts and customer hardware (Part cut ups).
Prepare and evaluate physical properties (e.g. Hardness – Micro and Macro).
Perform set-ups and operate a variety of standard lab equipment, adhering to prescribed methods of operation.
Calibrate and maintain lab equipment.
Order all Met Lab supplies including polishing suspensions, grit paper, etc.
Perform quality evaluations of standard coatings in a timely manner, identifying problem areas and reporting results to appropriate individuals.
Keep accurate record keeping for all tasks.
