About The Position

A Manufacturing IT/MES Technical Support Engineer is responsible for solving Application related issues and implementing new changes into MFG Application Systems including new line deployment, rebalancing and configuration changes based on requirements from the MFG IT Product team, Process Engineers and tooling teams. This role will also help identify existing process pain points and functions to find areas of improvement which will include process flows, reviewing and analyzing data to implement changes.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, computer science or an equivalent work experience .
  • 1+ years Experience with Manufacturing IT Systems.
  • Familiar working with MES applications like FTPC, Kepware, Ignition.
  • knowledge of MFG systems and processes including MES & Quality Systems.
  • Basic system troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience resolving simple to moderately complex issues through root cause analysis.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, energetic, a self-starter with outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CI/CD knowledge.
  • Knowledge of SQL, Active Directory, PLC Live Data Tags, Log Monitoring like data Dog, basic scripting.
  • Knowledge programming language in Java, PowerShell or Ansible or similar language scripting experience and understanding of application, containerization.
  • Experience with Kubernetes ,k8's.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an escalation point for all MES related Incidents to minimize down time on Factory Operations.
  • Perform system configuration changes including rebalancing, line changes resulting in operational efficiencies.
  • Work with plant commissioning teams to launch manufacturing systems.
  • Update documentation to reflect system changes and processes.
  • Work with Product teams and Process Engineers to define line/station process and configuration.
  • Work with SRE principles to identify and remove repetitive work through automation
  • Collaborate or own in root cause analysis.
  • Available and willing to work, weekends, holidays and Oncall to meet operational objectives.
  • Work as a liaison between security, controls, networking, tooling or any other team (internal or external) when needed to restore service or deploy changes to plant floor systems.
  • Train and support Operations Analysts on a day-to-day process.
  • Develop and maintain documentation including user manual, system configurations and functional specifications.
