The Merchant Services Loss Prevention Analyst performs transaction monitoring, client outreach, analysis, and verification on accounts to safeguard the line of business from fraudulent activity and losses. This role involves monitoring accounts in a risk scoring system, analyzing for out-of-pattern activity, and mitigating potential losses or fraud. The analyst will also conduct fraud investigations, perform client outreach, implement loss mitigation strategies, and pursue recovery to minimize losses. A key aspect of the role is monitoring trends and patterns within the merchant portfolio to detect and prevent future losses, analyzing various reports to assess client relationships and potential risks, and providing expert feedback to management on fraud detection and recommendations for queue revisions and exception reporting. In loss event situations, the analyst will review risk factors, including client relationships with the bank, and inform appropriate regional leadership to minimize corporate exposure. Additionally, the role involves developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external partners, including other institutions and law enforcement, to aid in investigations and review loss events. The analyst will also serve as a liaison with a 3rd party chargeback processor and act as critical personnel during inclement weather, disaster, or emergency situations.
