About The Position

The Merchant - Sam's Club Travel is responsible for developing and executing category strategies that drive business growth and profitability. The Merchant manages financial performance, supplier negotiations, and team development to meet strategic objectives. Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of travel industry expertise with knowledge across a broad set of categories (e.g. Hotels, Flights, Packages, Wholesale, Rental Car, Transfers, Cruise, Tickets)
  • Proven experience in category strategy development and execution for highly complex categories.
  • Strong financial management skills, including profit and loss ownership and forecasting.
  • Expertise in supplier management and negotiation to drive price leadership and profitability.
  • Ability to analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitive landscape to inform decisions.
  • Proficiency in assortment planning, promotional strategies, and ecommerce.
  • Skilled in leveraging data and digital tools to influence strategic initiatives and improve efficiency.
  • Effective decision-making and project management skills aligned with business objectives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, or related field and 3 years’ experience in merchandising, buying, financial planning, operations, or related area OR 5 years’ experience in merchandising, buying, financial planning, operations, or related area.
