About The Position

This is an exciting career opportunity in Merchandising at TJX Companies. TJX's California Buying Office is unique as it is the only buying office in the US that buys for all of TJX's global brands. Located in downtown Los Angeles, this office comprises nearly 300 associates, primarily Merchants. The role offers a hybrid work schedule and a collaborative environment. TJX is seeking to connect with talented Merchants at all levels interested in exploring future career opportunities.

Requirements

Previous Buyer experience
Track record of driving sales results and executing successful buying strategies
Strong analytical, financial, strategic, and planning skills
Exceptional negotiating skills
Entrepreneurial mindset with a comfort level in taking measurable risks
Strong communication, relationship-building, and team collaboration skills
Bachelor’s degree

Responsibilities

Buying product to offer customers a desirable and rapidly changing mix of high quality merchandise at amazing values.
Hunting for the hottest brand name and designer merchandise for the entire family and home.
Negotiating the best possible price for merchandise from various sources such as department store cancellations, overproduced manufacturer products, or end-of-season closeout deals.
Sourcing or designing merchandise, ensuring high quality, fashion, brand name, and designer appeal at prices 20%-60% less than full-price retailers.
Driving sales results and executing successful buying strategies.
Managing buying strategies and product selection to meet customer needs across various styles (classic, understated, eclectic, outdoorsy, trendy).
