About The Position

Kroger is looking for current college students with a passion for food and a desire to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, innovative environment. The Spring Internship Program is a 16-week immersive experience designed to help students grow their careers through focused assignments. The program offers competitive pay, hands-on learning, exposure to senior leaders, and professional development opportunities. Interns will spend their time driving projects, refining professional skills, working with industry leaders, and connecting with peers nationwide. Applicants must have work authorization in the US that does not require future visa sponsorship.

Requirements

  • Actively pursuing a degree at an accredited college or university.
  • Preferred GPA of 3.0.
  • Must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States and with Kroger Co.
  • Highly motivated student with the desire to take initiative on their own work.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Significant level of multi-tasking.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities between school, work, or extra-curricular activities.

  • Any specialized skillsets in Contract Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, Merchandising, or CPG experience.

Responsibilities

  • Complete a 16-week program in a merchandising department, working with a team to understand the corporate merchandising function.
  • Positively impact Kroger's business and consumers by completing challenging and meaningful projects.
  • Assist the Merchandising group in achieving department goals and objectives.
  • Complete specific internship assignments in a timely manner with the assistance of department managers.
  • Communicate status updates and potential issues to appropriate team members.
  • Support the Merchandising department and assist with activities of assigned department(s), including end-to-end assortment, financials, analysis, and overall category strategy.
  • Interpret data trends and apply knowledge to inform business decisions.
  • Participate in and provide feedback at team meetings.
  • Complete a cumulative internship project (summary of accomplishments) and present it to the Merchandising leadership team.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
