About The Position

As a Merchandising Assistant, you are responsible for supporting the Merchandising Team with the implementation of billings, cost changes, customer support, and data integrity review. This role involves coordinating customer contracts by monitoring all outbound costs to customers, working with the manufacturing community to ensure competitive pricing, managing regional brackets and exceptions, and coordinating future price changes. The assistant will ensure the team processes upcoming deals, off invoices, and customized pricing, maintaining data integrity with the customer base. Responsibilities include monitoring weekly billings (flyer, bottle deposit, customized p-deals), and billings impacting gross profit. The role also involves monitoring and communicating item and vendor attribute errors, ensuring high data quality for order accuracy with vendors, and monitoring various attributes to ensure proper product flow. Daily customer communication is required, along with overseeing associate tracking spreadsheets for new item progress. The assistant will review cost compare reports to ensure pricing consistency and run sales reporting to validate credits or rebills. A key aspect is understanding and validating cost mismatches between C&S and customers. The role supports at least one merchandiser in weekly tasks, including gross profit analysis and the generation of merchandising and marketing plans for the East Coast independent base.

Requirements

  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail; able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience.
  • General Equivalency Diploma - General Studies or High School Diploma - General Studies.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate customer contracts by monitoring all outbound costs to the customers.
  • Work with the manufacturing community to ensure up-to-date and competitive pricing for customers, managing regional brackets and exceptions.
  • Coordinate all future increases and declines submitted by the manufacturing community into their associates.
  • Ensure the team plugs all upcoming deals, off invoices and customized pricing, confirming strong integrity with the customer base.
  • Monitor billings the team produces, including all flyer, bottle deposit and customized p-deals every week, along with all billings that have gone to the gross profit budget line.
  • Monitor and communicate item and vendor attributes that are setup incorrectly.
  • Ensure high data quality to ensure orders are succinct with the vendor community.
  • Monitor various attributes and flagging in the system to ensure the products are flowing properly.
  • Communicate with the customers on a daily basis.
  • Oversee each associate's tracking spreadsheet that drives down and monitors the progress of new items.
  • Review various cost compare reports to ensure there is no variance in the pricing we have with our customer.
  • Run various sales reporting to validate credits owed to the customer or rebills we might be owed.
  • Understand and validate cost mismatches between C&S and Customer.
  • Support at least one merchandiser to assist them in their weekly tasks, involving gross profit and the generation of an extensive merchandising and marketing plan for our East Coast independent base.
