About The Position
Saratoga Eagle Sales & Service, Inc. is a family-owned, full-service beverage distributor servicing 21 counties in New York State. We employ upwards of 250 stakeholders and are passionate about selling beverages, delivering fun, and quenching thirst for every occasion. Our purpose is to support our families, make friends, and serve our community. We are currently hiring for a Beverage Merchandiser in Amsterdam and surrounding areas. This role offers opportunities for growth, with many merchandisers moving on to Sales Relief and Retail Sales Consultant positions. This is a physical role that involves interacting with customers.
Requirements
- Excellent Customer Service Skills.
- Knowledge of database software; Internet software.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must have reliable transportation throughout work day.
- Excellent communication skills and people skills in order to be able to respond to any situation.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, push or pull up to 250 pounds.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
- Employee is required to frequently work in a refrigerated atmosphere.
- Travels to various client accounts; such as, convenient stores and grocery stores.
Responsibilities
- Greets store owner or manager to review specific instructions.
- Displays merchandise that meets customer’s needs, and emphasizes selling points of article such as quality.
- Places new merchandise on display based on instruction from the salesman.
- Organizes customer’s back room.
- Repackages any damaged packages and replaces them on the shelf or cooler for the customer.
- Monitors and updates shelf tags.
- Takes inventory of stock and reports low volumes and out-of-stock situations.
- Assists with resets as needed.
- Maintains current and themed P.O.S. to ensure maximum account coverage.
- Adheres to all standards in sales manual (rotation etc).
- Checks voicemail 3 to 4 times daily/communicates with drivers and salesmen on a regular basis.
