The Merchandiser works independently in assigned retail stores to showcase Hallmark products, build relationships with store teams, and maintain product placement and inventory. The role includes day-to-day service in Hallmark departments, seasonal holiday support, and participation in department resets and installations. Merchandisers may occasionally work with other companies’ products in the stores they service and support other field team members in their territories. Day-to-day work includes restocking, organizing, and monitoring Hallmark products using a mobile device provided by Hallmark. The device is also used for communication with a supervisor, time reporting, feedback, and required activity surveys. The role requires professional interaction with store employees, management, and customers, and responsibility for the full Hallmark product display at assigned stores. This is a part-time position averaging 8–12 hours per week, with a variable weekday schedule. The role may require additional days or extended hours around major holidays, including possible work on the holiday itself or weekends. Seasonal changeovers, installations, inventory support, and department resets may also involve evening or weekend work. Remodel assignments are typically communicated two weeks in advance. The job is physically demanding and involves work on retail selling floors and in back stockrooms. Merchandisers must frequently push, pull, lift, and carry items up to 30 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds, as well as kneel, squat, walk, and stand throughout the workday. Climbing stairs and step ladders may also be required.
