About The Position

The Merchandiser presents products to attract consumers at customer retail locations and services and maintains multiple bulk accounts. The role involves merchandising approved products and packages using safe handling techniques and following quality guidelines. The Merchandiser must be able to follow plan sets and planograms and communicate with store management and cross-functional personnel. The work environment varies and may include exposure to weather conditions, coolers, and customer storage areas that are not temperature controlled. The position is based on-site in Hagerstown, Maryland.

Requirements

Effective listening, speaking, and writing skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a variety of customers and their differing needs and expectations.
Willingness to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment and lift 50 pounds repetitively.
Ability to work reliably and independently with little daily supervision.
Critical thinking skills.
Valid in-state driver's license.
Excellent driving history.
Proof of insurance verifying current liability and property damage coverage of at least $50,000 per person, $100,000 per accident, and $50,000 property damage, with a deductible of $500 or less, effective from the first day of employment.

Responsibilities

Fill, merchandise, and rotate products on displays and shelves according to procedures and special programs.
Physically move products from the backroom and place them on display.
Create and distribute point-of-sale materials on displays and shelves where permitted.
Fill and merchandise Fastlane merchandisers and vendors, and check vendors for proper operation.
Organize and maintain the backroom by stacking and arranging products by package and flavor.
Arrange the return of empty pallets and shells, damaged products, and out-of-date products to the branch.
Build business relationships with store personnel through routine follow-up on requests, proactive pricing, special programs, new opportunities, and upcoming activities.
