About The Position

Missoula Chevrolet and Missoula Volkswagen are seeking an energetic, detail-oriented Merchandiser / Inventory Photographer & Lot Assistant for a dual-function role. The employee will support the dealerships’ digital storefront by photographing and staging vehicles and uploading digital assets for online inventory and marketing channels. They will also work alongside the Lot Manager to coordinate daily lot logistics, stage vehicles, and handle pickup and delivery routes. The role is suited to someone who enjoys cars, has an eye for visual detail, and thrives in an active, hands-on environment. The position involves photographing new, certified pre-owned, and used vehicles at both dealership lots; preparing vehicles for photography; verifying online listing materials; and capturing promotional and event content as needed. It also supports lot organization, incoming inventory check-in, vehicle condition tracking, key and tag accountability, and transporting vehicles between dealership locations and service-related areas. The role works outdoors year-round in Montana weather and requires frequent walking, standing, and bending, as well as occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record; must be insurable under dealership policy.
Comfort using digital cameras, mobile capture apps, inventory management systems, and basic photo-editing software.
High standards for vehicle cleanliness, composition, lighting, and presentation.
Ability to work outdoors year-round in varied Montana weather, including rain, snow, and heat.
Ability to frequently walk, stand, and bend, and to lift up to 50 pounds.
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills for collaboration with the Lot Manager, sales consultants, detailers, and service staff.

Nice To Haves

Automotive photography experience.
Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmissions, or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

Photograph and document new, certified pre-owned, and used vehicles at both Missoula Chevrolet and Missoula Volkswagen.
Create consistent, professional photo sets in accordance with brand guidelines, including exterior walkarounds, interior features, technology options, badges, and odometer readings.
Prepare vehicles for photography by cleaning surfaces, adjusting the steering wheel and seats, ensuring windshields are clean, and aligning vehicle angles.
Upload digital assets and verify that window stickers and buyer’s guides match online listings on dealership websites and third-party syndication platforms.
Capture photos, video, pre-roll, and short-form video for dealership events, promotions, and community sponsorships as needed.
Assist the Lot Manager with daily lot organization, inventory staging, and vehicle merchandising to keep sales lines front-line ready.
Monitor incoming transport trucks and assist with checking in and staging newly delivered inventory.
Track battery health, fuel levels, tire pressure, and vehicle condition, and promptly report maintenance or detailing needs.
Account for and properly file vehicle keys, dealer tags, and stock numbers.
Safely transport vehicles to and from detail and service bays, off-site locations, and front-line display areas.
Assist sales and service departments with local dealer trades, vehicle pickups, and deliveries.
Coordinate with service advisors and detailers to prioritize newly arrived trade-ins for prompt photography.
