About The Position

This is a junior position designed for someone eager to build a career at the intersection of design, client service, and business development. You'll split your time between two core areas: keeping our sample and merchandising operation running smoothly, and beginning to build a presence within the Architecture & Design (A&D) community. We know there's a learning curve and we're ready for it. You'll receive hands-on training and mentorship from our Specifications team as you grow into both sides of this role. If you're organized, curious, and excited by the design industry, this is a strong launchpad.

Requirements

  • Professional communication style with both clients and internal teams
  • Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle, as this role involves travel to client locations.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ year of experience in a merchandising, customer service, or similar support role (asset)
  • Post-secondary education in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field is an asset
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time, tasks, and physical space effectively

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with scheduling and facilitating Lunch & Learn sessions, Product Knowledge presentations, and other client engagement events
  • Helping maintain and update designer libraries with current marketing assets and samples
  • Attending trade shows and networking events to build awareness and represent Formations' product lines
  • Supporting outreach and follow-up communications to the A&D community, including eblast campaigns and new product introductions
  • Building familiarity with Formations' product specifications and sustainability standards (e.g., LEED, Greenguard) and how designers use this information in their project decisions
  • Recording client and prospect activity in CRM tools
  • Coordinating sample requests from clients, A&D and Sales teams to ensure accurate and timely fulfillment
  • Ordering sampling materials from vendor partners and maintaining sample stock in branch
  • Preparing and shipping samples to clients as requested
  • Maintaining clear communication with internal teams and clients regarding sample availability, inventory levels, and shipment updates
  • Organizing and maintaining sample inventory, ensuring all materials are labeled, tracked, and easy to access
  • Traveling to client locations to deliver samples and support relationship-building efforts
  • Performing wallboard updates at A&D firm and millworker locations
  • Identifying opportunities to improve sample management processes and overall efficiency
  • Staying up to date on new product lines and materials to better support client needs
