Requirements

  • Within the greater Chicago area, 5+ years of building materials/construction / commercial projects sales experience
  • Experience and relationships with A&D Firms in Chicago
  • 3+ years of proven capacity to interact with multiple levels within all faces with commercial industry projects
  • 3+ years of experience leading people, direct leadership preferred, but would also accept indirect leadership
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to use provided tools such as excel, Google Sheets, and Tableau to support strong analytical skills and financial acumen
  • Ability to build and leverage cross-functional relationships internally/externally to support customers’ go-to-market strategy
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate and formally present
  • Knowledge of consultative selling processes and techniques
  • Self-directed and results-oriented with a track record of improving results
  • Team player, able to work in a matrix environment
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, including Outlook and CRM tools, including Salesforce.com and Tableau

Responsibilities

  • Identify portfolios of key architectural and design firms within your assigned territory.
  • Identify key partners and customers of these firms, providing insight into our sales teams to assist in securing relationships with secondary customers of these firms.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with architects, interior designers, engineers, spec writers and developers of these firms.
  • Represent our brand at key industry events and trade shows as needed.
  • Deliver continuous education and provide “Lunch and Learn” opportunities to educate these firms on product lines, technical specifications, compliance codes, and new innovation.
  • Act as both a technical support and design support but aiding these customers in selecting products that meet the aesthetic, budget and technical requirements of the project.
  • Actively track projects in the pre and early design stages, to ensure Lixil products are written into the official project plans and specifications. Document that information in our CRM tools to ensure visibility within our Lixil sales organization.
  • Defend the specification by working closely with the sales team, quote support team, contractors, manufacturers' reps, and other key influencers in the project install pipeline to “protect” the specifications from being “value-engineered” or substituted by competitors during the bidding process.
  • Monitor the sales pipeline from specification through bidding, purchasing, and installation, ensuring successful execution across team members and customers throughout the process.
  • Partner closely with internal and external teams, including Manufacturers reps, Brand, Showroom, Marketing, Supply, Sales Operations, and others to deliver on A&D sales strategies.
  • Gather feedback on product performance, industry trends, and competitor activity to relay back to the organization.
