About The Position

The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra (PSO) is seeking a part-time Merchandise Seller to provide exceptional customer service while selling merchandise at concerts at Heinz Hall. The PSO is a renowned cultural ambassador with a rich history of artistic excellence and community engagement.

Requirements

• High school Diploma or GED.
• Experience working directly with the public.
• Outstanding customer services skills.
• Ability to handle the stress of high customer demand in a hospitality environment.
• Ability to work independently and/or with others as needed.
• Ability to maintain composure and perform well under pressure.
• Ability and willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings and/or weekends.
• Must be available to work at least 15-25 hours per month.
• Ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time.
• Ability to operate related equipment, i.e. computer, copier, scanner.
• Ability to set up and strike merchandise.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Previous retail experience.
• Knowledge of classical music.

Responsibilities

• Handling cash and credit card transactions.
• Counting in and out of merchandise and cash.
• Providing exceptional customer service to patrons.
• Understanding of the products on sale.
• Answering questions from patrons about products and the concert.

Benefits

• Hourly rate of $12.05
