Merchandise Sale Associate
About The Position
The Merchandise Sale Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfying customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers, following customer experience principles, and keeping the store clean and organized. The associate follows operational, merchandising, and loss-prevention standards and may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs. The role includes assisting customers, accurately processing purchases and returns, promoting credit and loyalty programs, preparing merchandise for the sales floor, and maintaining merchandising, recovery, organization, and cleanliness standards. The associate also supports store culture, shrink-reduction and safety programs, follows labor laws and company procedures, and performs other duties as assigned. The position is at Marshalls Store 0296, 6233 East State Street, Rockford, Illinois. The starting pay range is USD $15.00 to $15.50 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities
- Model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
- Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
- Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to operating procedures.
- Promote credit and loyalty programs.
- Follow the merchandising philosophy and established merchandising procedures and standards.
- Accurately process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
- Initiate and participate in store recovery as needed throughout the day.
- Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards on the sales floor and participate in maintaining and cleaning the entire store.
- Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
- Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
- Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
- Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
