Temp To Hire - 2nd Shift Selection
About The Position
This is a Temp To Hire position for a Merchandise Processor II on the 2nd shift in a Distribution Center. The role involves picking, packing, and inspecting merchandise for customers, performing data entry, and meeting production and quality standards. The position requires working with team members on process improvements and cost reductions, understanding team objectives, and applying basic skills within the assigned work area. Employees are expected to report to work as scheduled and complete other duties as assigned by their supervisor. Flexibility is key, as employees may be required to assist in any area of merchandise processing during busy periods.
Requirements
- Previous PC/RF experience preferred; basic keyboarding skills; computer literate (knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word)
- Distribution center experience preferred
- Basic math skills
- Good hand/eye coordination
- Ability to work independently or in team as assigned
- Quality conscious and detail oriented
- Flexibility - may be required to work in other areas, overtime or extended hours
- Understand and follow verbal or written instructions
- Lift, carry, push, pull, reach, grasp, bend, stoop and climb for up to 10 hours at a time
- Climb stairs
- Stand for duration of work shift and walk/move continuously
- Work around moving machinery/equipment
- Adjust to climate changes; hot and cold extremes may occur in warehouse
- Perform frequent/reoccurring movement (folding, hanging clothing, wrapping, packing, closing, ticketing, etc.)
- Lift up to 50 pounds several times per day; weight requirements may vary within work areas; perform overhead lifting as necessary
- Work comfortably on open platform/loft areas that are elevated to a second or third story level
Responsibilities
- Picks/packs, inspects, ships merchandise to customers
- Accurately performs data entry via PC/RF
- Achieves production (UPH) standards in all areas
- Achieves quality (IQA) standards in all areas
- Works with team members in support of process improvements and cost reductions
- Understands team objectives within assigned work area
- Applies basic skills and procedural knowledge within assigned work area
- Reports to work as scheduled, using time clock system
- Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Must be able to assist in any area of merchandise processing during busy periods
