About The Position

Sierra at TJX Companies is seeking a Merchandise Coordinator. This role is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The position also focuses on creating an excellent customer experience by engaging with customers and maintaining a clean, organized store. The role models exceptional customer service, creates a positive internal and external customer experience, and promotes a culture of honesty and integrity. The Merchandise Coordinator orchestrates truck delivery, prioritizes merchandise processing onto the sales floor, and trains/mentors Associates on merchandising and processing principles. They ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded, and communicate with the Coordinator on Duty for efficient flow of goods. The role ensures Associates complete tasks according to the store plan, monitors team productivity, coaches as necessary, and organizes back stock. They maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards, uphold organizational and cleanliness standards for the backroom, and ensure compliance with recycling and hazardous waste programs. Communication with management and Associates regarding priorities and progress updates is key, as is providing and accepting feedback. The role partners with management on Associate training needs and ensures adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures. They promote credit and loyalty programs, support shrink reduction goals, and promote safety awareness. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

Executing receiving and merchandising standards
Ensuring Associates are processing efficiently and effectively, and working as a team
Creating a positive internal and external customer experience
Orchestrating truck delivery, prioritizing the processing of merchandise onto the sales floor
Training and mentoring Associates on established merchandising and processing principles
Ensuring merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded
Communicating with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure efficient flow of goods to sales floor
Ensuring Associates complete tasks and activities according to store plan; prioritizing as needed
Monitoring productivity of team and coaching as necessary
Organizing and rotating back stock for easy replenishment
Maintaining and upholding merchandising philosophy and signage standards
Maintaining all organizational, cleanliness and recovery standards for the backroom area
Ensuring compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs
Communicating accurately and effectively with management and Associates when setting and addressing priorities; providing progress updates
Providing and accepting recognition and constructive feedback
Partnering with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness
Ensuring adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures
Promoting credit and loyalty programs
Supporting and participating in store shrink reduction goals and programs
Promoting safety awareness and maintaining a safe environment
