The Merchandise Coordinator is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards while ensuring Associates are processing efficiently and effectively, and working as a team. This role ensures an excellent customer experience by engaging and interacting with all customers, and maintaining a clean and organized store. The Merchandise Coordinator role models exceptional customer service, creates a positive internal and external customer experience, and promotes a culture of honesty and integrity while maintaining confidentiality. This position orchestrates truck delivery, prioritizes the processing of merchandise onto the sales floor, and trains and mentors Associates on established merchandising and processing principles. The coordinator ensures merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded, and communicates with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure efficient flow of goods to the sales floor. They monitor team productivity and coach as necessary, organize and rotate back stock, and maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards. The role also involves maintaining organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the backroom area, ensuring compliance with recycling and hazardous waste programs. The Merchandise Coordinator communicates accurately and effectively with management and Associates, provides and accepts recognition and constructive feedback, partners with Management on Associate training needs, and ensures adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures. Additionally, they promote credit and loyalty programs, support store shrink reduction goals, and promote safety awareness.
