Merchandise Associate
About The Position
The Merchandise Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfied customer experience through engaging and interacting with customers, following customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. The associate adheres to operational, merchandising, and loss prevention standards and may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs. The role includes customer service, processing purchases and returns, promoting credit and loyalty programs, preparing and processing merchandise for the sales floor, maintaining merchandising standards, and supporting store recovery, cleanliness, safety, and shrink-reduction efforts. The associate works effectively with peers and supervisors, follows company policies and applicable labor laws, and performs other duties as assigned. This position is at TJ Maxx Store 1695 in Paris, Tennessee. The starting pay range is USD $13.00 to $13.50 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities
- Role-model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
- Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
- Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to operating procedures.
- Promote credit and loyalty programs.
- Maintain the merchandising philosophy and follow established merchandising procedures and standards.
- Accurately process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
- Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
- Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards on the sales floor and participate in maintaining the cleanliness of the entire store.
- Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
- Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
- Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
- Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
