About The Position

The Merchandise Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfied customer experience through customer engagement, maintaining a clean and organized store, and following operational, merchandising, and loss-prevention standards. Associates may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs. The role includes customer service, processing transactions and merchandise, supporting store recovery and safety, and contributing to a positive store culture. The position is at Marshalls Store 1254 in Batavia, New York, with a starting pay range of $16.00–$16.50 per hour. Actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Role-model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
• Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to operating procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs.
• Uphold the merchandising philosophy and follow established merchandising procedures and standards.
• Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
• Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards on the sales floor and participate in maintaining and cleaning the entire store.
• Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
• Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
• Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
