About The Position

The Merchandise Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfactory customer experience by engaging with customers and following customer experience principles. The role also helps maintain a clean, organized, and safe store while adhering to operational, merchandise, and loss-prevention standards. Associates may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs.

The position supports a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect; processes customer purchases and returns; promotes credit and loyalty programs; prepares and maintains merchandise; and contributes to store recovery, cleanliness, safety, and shrink-reduction efforts. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

• Engage and interact with customers while following established customer experience practices.
• Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and provide the correct change according to operating procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs.
• Follow the merchandising philosophy and established merchandising procedures and standards.
• Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
• Maintain sales-floor organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards, and help maintain the entire store.
• Give and receive recognition and constructive feedback.
• Follow labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
• Participate in safety awareness and help maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
