About The Position

Guitar Center is seeking an entrepreneurial and analytical Merchandise Assistant to join its dynamic merchandising team. This role supports product creation, manages digital assets, and ensures accurate entry of product information, pricing, and marketing copy. It helps maintain the integrity of the product database and strengthen merchandising efforts. The position offers the opportunity to develop retail and merchandising skills and grow into a career in merchandising and planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or four years of relevant work experience.
• Skilled proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including V-lookups, formulas, filtering, sorting, and formatting.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively to accomplish goals.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data management and pricing.

Responsibilities

• Participate in developing successful merchandising strategies for select musical instrument categories.
• Manage the product information system for new launches and existing products.
• Monitor and ensure product workflows for digital assets and copy to support the go-to-market process.
• Organize and manage web samples for timely turn-ins.
• Analyze and develop weekly reports reflecting category and item sales and margin trends.
• Assist with vendor communications.
• Assist in creating and editing product descriptions and marketing assets.
• Accurately maintain product pricing.
