The Broadway Subway Project Corporation (BSPC), an Acciona-Ghella general partnership, is undertaking a 5.7 km extension of the Millennium Line in Vancouver. This project aims to provide efficient transit service to a significant jobs center, healthcare facilities, an innovation hub, and residential areas. The MEP Superintendent will report to the MEP Manager / System Installation Manager and will be responsible for supporting, coordinating, and overseeing Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) construction activities. This role is crucial for ensuring effective coordination among subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to achieve high-quality results that meet project specifications, schedules, and safety standards. The MEP Superintendent will also play a key part in resolving technical issues, managing interfaces, and facilitating efficient construction operations for all stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience) is preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in a construction environment, with a focus on MEP systems is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and fire protection systems.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical reports, specifications, drawings, and construction documents.
  • Proven experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with tunnel projects and ventilation systems is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for MEP material deliveries and logistics coordination.
  • Monitor, coordinate, and oversee MEP work performed by subcontractors to ensure alignment with project plans and timelines.
  • Identify, coordinate, and resolve interferences, clashes, and construction challenges across disciplines.
  • Participate in daily coordination meetings to review progress, address issues, and plan upcoming activities.
  • Track and evaluate MEP performance, identifying and reporting any deviations from project requirements or schedules.
  • Collaborate with MEP coordinators to plan, sequence, and prepare work packages for subcontractors.
  • Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and third parties to review and validate shop drawings, technical submissions, and documentation.
  • Coordinate integration activities, including testing and commissioning, ensuring proper notification and execution.
  • Provide technical input and practical solutions to improve construction efficiency and outcomes.
  • Coordinate interfaces between station works and tunnel systems to ensure seamless integration.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date project documentation and records.
  • Take initiative in identifying improvement opportunities and perform additional duties as assigned by management.
