About The Position

McFarland Construction is seeking an MEP Superintendent to oversee mechanical, electrical, and plumbing execution on commercial construction projects. This role is responsible for MEP trade coordination from rough-in through commissioning, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. This is a field leadership role ideal for a superintendent who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys owning technical MEP execution on complex projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in MEP construction, preferably in a superintendent or similar leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of MEP systems, blueprints, specifications, and construction methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Requires minimal training and can step in to immediately run projects with confidence.

Nice To Haves

  • Extensive experience with commercial upfit / interior renovations and MEP system installation is preferred.
  • OSHA 30, PMP, or other relevant construction certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise all MEP construction activities, ensuring proper coordination of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems with overall project schedules.
  • Work with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to resolve design conflicts and maintain efficient workflows.
  • Developing and implementing overall project work schedules identifying the critical path including the expediting of scheduled critical materials and equipment for their timely delivery to site.
  • Developing and managing the overall site safety program as required and ensuring subcontractor compliance with standards and all applicable safety codes and regulations.
  • Managing and making decisions related to the performance of work related to scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control and trade employee staffing levels.
  • Overseeing work among all trades to promote a coordinated project operation
  • Acting as liaison to inspection agencies.
  • Managing the General Conditions and General Requirements for the project to maintain budget.
  • Managing the billing process as it relates to work in place and overseeing the monthly estimate of work completed, payrolls, material invoices and subcontractor payment applications.
  • Managing the work to ensure that it is installed in compliance with and conforms to the approved contract documents.
  • Collaborate with Estimating/Preconstruction Team on the project schedule, logistics, safety, constructability reviews, general conditions, and general requirements.
