About The Position

TPC- Building Projects, A Tutor Perini Company, is seeking an MEP QC Field Engineer to join the Brooklyn Jail Project in New York. This is an approximate $3B project scope that includes the design and construction of a new state-of-the-art facility with 1,040 beds for men, programmatic elements, community facility space, a tunnel connection to the Kings County Criminal Court building, a secured entry, and below-grade parking. The MEP QC Field Engineer will report to the QC Manager & Sr. Project Manager and will be responsible for expanding and developing standard operating procedures and processes to achieve the highest levels of quality. This role involves assisting with the creation and implementation of project-specific Quality Management Plans, developing quality metrics, managing a team of Quality professionals, conducting site evaluations, creating mechanisms for sharing best practices, and acting as a resource for field operations regarding compliance with Federal, State, and local quality regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in MEP quality control in building construction projects.
  • Prove experience in conducting inspections, audits, and managing quality documentation.
  • Familiarity with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
  • Proficient with quality management software and MS Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications in quality management (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Expand and Develop standard operating procedures and processes to achieve the highest levels of quality associated with delivering a completed construction project
  • Assist with the creation of project specific Quality Management Plans and verify implementation of plan for each project
  • Assist with the development of Quality metrics that empower teams to review information on quality execution; work cross-functionally with operations to address any trend.
  • Manage a team of Quality professionals to execute the administrative tasks related to reporting site evaluations, quality reporting requirements, and site specific quality planning
  • Conduct random site evaluations, including follow-up evaluations to ensure corrections have been made to deficiencies
  • Create mechanisms for sharing best practices and quality issues across project teams and among all quality personnel
  • Act as a resource for field operations with compliance on Federal and State regulatory requirements as well as local quality regulations including: ADA, ASHE, NFPA, UL, ASTM, and FBC
  • Develop and update comprehensive training curriculum for all field operations, Quality Department Staff, and Subcontractors
  • Stay abreast of trends and evolving best practices by participating in organizations and forums dedicated to Quality.
  • Keep the Company informed of the latest updates on best practices and standards
