Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or closely related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Previous experience with Revit.
  • Previous coursework or experience with mechanical engineering projects.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in team environments and the ability to express ideas effectively to engineering and non-engineering audiences.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team and ask for assistance and guidance when necessary.
  • The selected candidate must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exams (FE / EIT).
  • LEED Certification (GA or AP).
  • Understanding of ASHRAE, NFPA, and ICC codes and standards.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for team meetings, client consultations, on-site project visits, etc.
  • Knowledge or previous experience with other CAD softwares.

Responsibilities

  • Apply mechanical engineering principles and practices to various HVAC and plumbing designs for buildings and facilities.
  • Perform engineering calculations and analyses to assess existing systems and select new systems for optimal performance.
  • Develop construction plans in Revit as well as specifications and cost estimates under the supervision of professional engineers.
  • Perform site visits to verify existing conditions and visually assess systems for efficacy and remaining design life.
  • Prepare technical reports detailing engineering analyses, code studies, system assessments, recommended remediation efforts, energy use and optimization, and life cycle cost analysis.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, architects, surveyors and scientists to provide the best solutions and designs for our clients.
  • Interact with clients, stakeholders, and subcontractors professionally, ethically, and collaboratively.
  • Promote stewardship of the communities, environment, and individuals you impact with your work.
