About The Position

We are currently seeking an individual to join our dynamic Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) team. You will be trained to become an MEP Estimator and will work primarily on commercial and industrial design-build projects (new construction and renovations) in collaboration with our Real Estate Development and Construction teams. In this role you will learn the process of managing the MEP estimation component of various project types (internal estimates, design-build, hard tenders, etc.) with the guidance of our Senior MEP Management team. As an MEP Estimator at Broccolini, you will have the privilege of being included in two close-knit teams: the Construction department and the Estimation department. Come join the team today!

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a mechanical and/or electrical engineering bachelor’s degree.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in the construction/estimation industry.
  • Detail oriented with excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Analytical and computer (Excel) skills.
  • Bilingualism (French & English) is mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare cost estimates, cost breakdowns and cost comparisons for various types of project deliveries.
  • Prepare budgetary and tender invitation packages for MEP subcontractors.
  • Create MEP outline specifications, MEP bid forms, review of MEP drawings and partake in project kick-off meetings with our Real Estate Development and Construction departments to determine the MEP related project scope.
  • Communicate on a regular basis with MEP subcontractors for budgets, tenders, follow-ups and technical assistance.
  • Manage project requests for information (RFI’s) and the transmittal of RFI’s, clarifications and addenda to the MEP subcontractors.
  • Review the MEP subcontractor proposals ensuring accuracy and conformity with the project requirements.
  • Prepare detailed budget and tender analysis documents, to be presented at project closing meetings.
  • Prepare detailed project specific MEP qualifications (inclusions/exclusions), to be presented at project closing meetings.
  • The ability to manage and prioritize multiple on-going estimates effectively and simultaneously.
  • Maintain our in-house MEP Database up to date with estimates, quotations and subcontractor information.
