Prepare detailed estimates for the project based on the design documents, narratives, and specifications, focusing on the Mechanical/Plumbing/Fire Protection/Electrical/Technology/LV System (MEP) trades. This role involves communicating estimate and scopes of work, preparing quantity take-offs, analyzing site conditions and contract documents, developing relationships with suppliers and trade partners, performing constructability analysis, and participating in life cycle analysis. The MEP Estimator will also work with operations staff to ensure General Conditions and General Requirements are addressed, coordinate equipment pricing, develop value analysis, and act as a liaison with various project stakeholders. Responsibilities include preparing and assembling estimates for different contract types, participating in estimate reviews, and assisting in project hand-offs. The role also involves authoring scope requisitions, evaluating subcontractor proposals, assisting with change orders, and maintaining a historical cost database. Utilization of quantification and cost estimating tools is expected, and the position may supervise assistant estimators or interns.
