About The Position

Coffman Engineers is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Designer/Drafter with 3 to 5 years of experience to support the electrical and mechanical engineering departments in their San Diego office. The role involves assisting in the creation of drawings and project documents using CAD and BIM platforms like AutoCAD and Revit, based on information provided by engineers. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, eager to grow in a multidiscipline engineering environment, and contribute positively to the team.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in drafting and design (experience in electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems required).
• Possess CAD, layout, and BIM skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam.
• Experience with the latest release of Autodesk Revit design tools.
• Knowledgeable in creating and editing MEP Revit models.
• Work from detailed engineering sketches to MEP models, plans and details.
• Possess computer skills necessary for daily activities including email, word processing, spreadsheets and graphics.
• Possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive contributor to overall office and department goals, culture, and morale.
• Able to work with numerous project teams to help with project completion.

Nice To Haves

• Technical or associate degree in computer-aided drafting & design (or similar), preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating drawings and project documents from information provided by engineers using various computer-aided design (CAD) and building information modeling (BIM) platforms such as AutoCAD, Revit, etc.
• Create and edit MEP Revit models.
• Work from detailed engineering sketches to MEP models, plans and details.
• Assist with project completion by working with numerous project teams.
