About The Position

Coffman Engineers' San Diego office is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Designer/Drafter with 3 to 5 years of experience to support the electrical and mechanical engineering departments. The successful candidate will assist in creating drawings and project documents from information provided by engineers using various computer-aided design (CAD) and building information modeling (BIM) platforms such as AutoCAD, Revit, etc. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, have a desire to work and grow in a multidiscipline engineering office, and be willing to have fun.

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of experience.
• 3+ years plus experience in drafting and design (experience in electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems required).
• Possess CAD, layout, and BIM skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam.
• Experience with the latest release of Autodesk Revit design tools.
• Possess computer skills necessary for daily activities including email, word processing, spreadsheets and graphics.
• Possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive contributor to overall office and department goals, culture, and morale.

Nice To Haves

• Technical or associate degree in computer-aided drafting & design (or similar), preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating drawings and project documents from information provided by engineers using various computer-aided design (CAD) and building information modeling (BIM) platforms such as AutoCAD, Revit, etc.
• Create and edit MEP Revit models.
• Work from detailed engineering sketches to MEP models, plans and details.
• Work with numerous project teams to help with project completion.
