About The Position

CMTA, formerly known as AMA Group, is seeking a mid-level MEP Construction Superintendent for its New York City and New Jersey offices. The superintendent coordinates site construction activities, supervises trade and field personnel, supports management, and helps implement or improve companywide project-management processes, with a strong focus on safety. The role involves travel to jobsites throughout New York City, Brooklyn, Northern New Jersey, and Southern Connecticut, with limited time in the office. The role supports projects for clients including NBC Universal, Disney, NBC Sports, and A+E Networks. CMTA is a full-service construction management company established in 2004. It grew from its parent company, CMTA, which designs MEP/FP building systems for media, broadcast, and production facilities, including sound-stage campuses. CMTA has completed more than 1,000 projects across corporate, financial, educational, and residential sectors. In 2024, AMA Group was acquired by Legence, a company in the Blackstone portfolio with more than 9,000 employees. The acquisition expanded the company’s national reach and aligned AMA Group with CMTA, a 1,500-person MEP design firm with 50 U.S. offices. The superintendent establishes site safety and office setup, including logistics, material movement, safety requirements, and emergency plans. The role reviews and supports project schedules, coordinates project information and communication in Procore, reviews subcontractor scopes and drawings, tracks RFIs and submittals, conducts safety orientations and meetings, documents field progress, manages laboring staff and timesheets, coordinates subcontractors and client meetings, supports change pricing, and manages project closeout and site cleanup.
