At Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Massachusetts (BBBSEM), we are dedicated to fostering the healthy development of children by nurturing lasting, one-to-one friendships with caring adults, supported by professional staff. We achieve this by collaborating with schools, workplaces, and volunteers across Eastern Massachusetts to bring our programs and services to the youth who need them most. This role is for a Mentoring Program Assistant focused on our Martha's Vineyard near-peer program, with the goal of expanding the number of youth we serve. The position is embedded within the local school system, supporting the Near Peer Program Coordinator in direct student engagement. Responsibilities include supporting weekly mentor-mentee outings during the school year, counseling participants on maximizing their relationships, and serving as a primary contact for youth, mentors, and staff on Martha's Vineyard to help youth reach their full potential and enhance their academic capabilities. The role also involves working with non-native English speakers, making additional language proficiency, especially Spanish, a preferred asset.
