Requirements

  • High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE), or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required
  • Successful completion of one of the following three options: (1) Obtain a diploma/certificate from an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program; (2) Obtain a diploma/certificate from an accredited Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program; or (3) Nursing Fundamental courses from an accredited clinical RN or LVN program (typically done in the 1st semester) required
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Mental Health Worker is required.
  • Positions in Labor & Delivery require a minimum of two (2) years of experience.
  • BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required
  • One of the following is required: CNA - State of California Certified Nursing Assistant Certification (active or inactive status is acceptable)
  • One of the following is required: EMT - Emergency Medical Technician Certification issued by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Certification issued by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (active or inactive status is acceptable)
  • One of the following is required: RN or LVN Student/Graduate

Nice To Haves

  • Current enrollment in an accredited school of Nursing for RN or LVN program preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist with direct patient care, including vital signs, hygiene, mobility, feeding, intake/output, and other daily activities.
  • Support nurses and providers in patient monitoring, documentation, and coordination to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of patient rooms, equipment, and supplies to promote a safe and organized environment.
  • Provide clerical and administrative support, facilitating communication within the care team.
  • Assist in the delivery of daily care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse.
  • Provide direct patient care and assistance with basic life skills to our patients.
