About The Position

Montare Behavioral Health is seeking Mental Health Workers for its Mental Health Residential Treatment facility in the Tarzana area. This position involves providing direct service to clients and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the program. The Mental Health Worker will collaborate as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team to deliver effective treatment and compassionate care to clients with mental health diagnoses.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • High School graduate or possess a GED
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Valid driver's license
  • Clean driving record
  • Personal automobile insurance
  • Completion of a background check
  • TB test
  • Clearance on a drug screen
  • Pre-employment physical
  • Current first aid and CPR certification or willing to obtain upon hire
  • DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance or an exemption
  • Submission of a signed Criminal Record Statement (LIC 508)
  • Clean Background is a must

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework in counseling, psychology, or social work preferred
  • Experience working with mental health clients in a treatment setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist with intake process and orient clients to the facility
  • Conduct and document rounds to ensure the location and well-being of each client
  • Observe clients self-administration of medication and document appropriately
  • Build rapport and provide support to clients while maintaining appropriate boundaries at all times
  • Transport and attend offsite activities with clients such as meetings, appointments and therapeutic outings
  • Ensure clients attend all scheduled groups and therapy sessions
  • Prepare and facilitate groups as assigned and lead clients in organized activities
  • Review treatment plan goals with clients regularly and support clients in accessing community resources
  • Provide effective crisis intervention as needed and teach independent living skills effectively
  • Complete all charts, program documentation, medication management, shift/crossover reports, incident reports and other forms and reports according to company policies
  • Document and communicate to the treatment team any pertinent observations and interactions with clients
  • Ensure the facility is clean, safe and in compliance at all times
  • Attend in-service trainings and all-staff meetings to complete 20 hours of continuing education per year
  • Other duties as assigned by the leadership team
