About The Position

Join us as a Mental Health Worker! Help clients with psychosocial rehabilitation, focusing on recovery, community integration, and improving quality of life. Reporting to the Program Manager, the selected candidate will encourage clients in problem-solving, conflict resolution, goal setting, and medication management. They will provide direct, "hands-on" life skills training, such as assisting with grocery shopping and accessing public transportation, and advocate on behalf of clients to ensure their needs are met. The candidate will assist in completing individualized service plans, collaborate with clients to identify areas of need, and develop specific, attainable goals.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar role or a background in social services.
  • Knowledge of homelessness issues.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed care.
  • Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental attitude.
  • Knowledge of community resources and support services.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and communication purposes.
  • Aged between 15 and 30 years old on the start date of the job.
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN).
  • Be a Canadian citizen, a permanent Resident of Canada, or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada.
  • Undergo a Police Information Check (PIC).
  • Undergo a Vulnerable Sector Check by the Ministry of Justice.
