About The Position

This position has primary responsibility for mental health services and case management services to children, adolescents, adults, and their families. The Mental Health Specialist provides mental health services (including assessment and evaluation as assigned) and other services to clients referred to in the Community Services Program. Services include but are not limited to individual, family, and collateral therapy, treatment planning, etc. He/she acts as liaison with external agencies and functions in teams with other clinical & support staff. S/he documents and bills for mental health and case management services and completes outcomes information. May be requested to obtain additional certifications as needed.

Requirements

Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related mental health field.
Valid California Driver's License with a driving record that meets company eligibility policies.
Two years’ experience in a mental health field with age group(s) to be served by the position in residential or outpatient settings preferred.
Active registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as an Associate (AMFT, ACSW, or APCC) for Mental Health Specialist II (MHS II).
Active licensure with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as a Licensed clinician (LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC) for Mental Health Specialist III (MHS III).
Ability to speak Spanish.

Responsibilities

May be requested to obtain additional certifications, as necessary, including evidenced based practices.
