About The Position

Sundance Behavioral Resources, part of the Optum family of businesses, is seeking a per diem or part-time Mental Health Therapist to join our team in Provo, Utah. As a member of the Optum Behavioral Care team, you will be an integral part of our vision to make healthcare better for everyone. Founded in 1999, Sundance Behavioral Resources is an outpatient private practice, specializing in counseling and psychiatric care for adults, teens and children with emotional, mental and behavioral health concerns and conditions. With over 20 specialists, our team includes psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and mental health counselors, all genuinely committed to providing compassionate, goal-oriented support. As a Mental Health Therapist, you will provide evidence-based treatment for a broad range of mental health conditions, reflecting the needs of a diverse patient population. We offer flexible solutions designed to support both clinicians and the communities they serve. Our organization provides the infrastructure and support that enables therapists to focus on delivering quality patient care. This per diem or part-time position is based on site at our Provo, UT office having in-person sessions. Flexibility for telehealth sessions may be considered. You will have the flexibility to create your own schedule provided client needs are met.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related counseling field
  • Active, unrestricted clinical license that allows you to practice without supervision in Utah: LCSW, LMFT, or LCMHC)

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of professional experience post master’s degree providing behavioral health services
  • Experience providing direct psychotherapy services to individuals and families
  • Experience working with computers for professional communication and medical documentation - Excel, Outlook, Athena RMS or other Electronic Health Record systems (EHRs)
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with equal effectiveness

Responsibilities

  • Screen and assess patients for common mental health and substance use disorders
  • Provide treatment using evidence-based approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and other modalities
  • Track treatment response and monitor patients for changes in symptoms or complications
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records and clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements
