About The Position

Join CoreLife, in partnership with MedStar Health, and be part of a transformative, multidisciplinary care model focused on treating obesity and chronic disease as complex, whole-person conditions. At CoreLife, the integrated approach combines medical care, nutrition counseling, behavioral health therapy, and exercise and lifestyle support to combat obesity as a disease and empower patients to achieve sustainable, long-term health outcomes. The position seeks a licensed Mental Health Therapist to play a critical role in this collaborative care model, delivering behavioral health interventions for patients managing obesity and related chronic conditions. The therapist will work alongside a high-performing clinical team, including Nurse Practitioners, Registered Dietitians, and Exercise Specialists, to support whole-person patient care.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in: Social Work
  • Master’s Degree in: Counseling
  • Master’s Degree in: Marriage & Family Therapy
  • Active Maryland licensure required: LCSW-C (Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical)
  • Active Maryland licensure required: LCPC (Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor)
  • Active Maryland licensure required: LCMFT (Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist)
  • 1–2+ years of clinical experience
  • Experience working with adults and/or adolescents
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and team collaboration skills

Nice To Haves

  • Clinical experience in behavioral health, outpatient, or integrated care preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial and behavioral health assessments
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on behavior change and lifestyle modification
  • Provide evidence-based therapy (CBT, motivational interviewing, etc.)
  • Support patients with emotional, behavioral, and psychological barriers to weight management
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated patient care
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Engage patients to improve retention, adherence, and outcomes
