About The Position

This is a professional position that provides immediate, on-site behavioral health crisis intervention services to individuals experiencing mental health, substance use, and emotional distress crises in the community. Working within a collaborative team, the therapist will assess needs, provide support, determine appropriate interventions including de-escalation, safety planning and referral to additional services. This role requires the therapist to be mobile, responding to calls across a variety of community settings. Employee must reside in the county where Mobile Crisis Response Team services are provided.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Two years’ experience working with individuals in crisis, including experience in mental health, substance use or emergency services.
  • New Mexico State licensure as a Master's or doctorate level mental health counselor, social worker, or psychologist is required (e.g., LPC, LMHC, LAMFT, LMSW, LPCC, LISW, LCSW, LMFT, LPAT or LCP) by date of hire and maintained throughout employment.
  • Have or be able to obtain First Aid and BLS/CPR certifications within 30 days of hire.
  • Must reside in the county where Mobile Crisis Response Team services are provided.
  • Must be in compliance with the HR Policy on a Drug Free Workplace throughout the on-call period.
  • Must comply with required testing and immunizations (TB, Hepatitis B, Tdap, MMR, Varicella, Influenza).
  • Must successfully complete an initial post-offer of employment Criminal Records Check.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
  • Must provide a current motor vehicle record.
  • Must submit to a motor vehicle record check on an as needed basis and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
  • Must comply with PMS Policies on Automobile Usage, Drug Free Workplace, and applicable state and federal laws.

  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and crisis intervention techniques preferred.
