About The Position

Sea Mar Community Health Centers is seeking a full-time Mental Health Therapist II for its Bellingham Clinic. This role involves providing individual and group counseling, case management, crisis stabilization, suicide risk assessment, and treatment planning. The therapist will also coordinate with medication providers, primary care physicians, and community agencies. Accurate diagnosis and development of treatment plans are essential. The position requires willingness to work some evenings and occasional community-based client meetings. The role is part of a growing team that collaborates closely with medical providers to establish a 'whole health home' for clients, creating a supportive and invigorating clinical environment.

Requirements

  • Must hold a Master's degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, counseling, or social work which includes coursework in psychological diagnostics.
  • Up to three (3) years' experience in the field.
  • Minority mental health therapist as required by WAC.
  • Must meet criteria of a Mental Health Professional (MHP).
  • Must hold and maintain an active Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor License (may be pending for up to 60 days if applied for within 7 days of being offered employment) or mental health Associate License (includes Marriage and Family Therapist, Mental Health Counselor, and Clinical Social Worker).
  • Must have and maintain a current TB test.
  • Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR within 90 days of hire date and is required to maintain current BLS CPR throughout employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provides diagnostic assessments.
  • Makes referrals for psychiatric services.
  • Performs case management in coordination with other teams or parties involved in treatment.
  • Provides individual counseling.
  • Offers crisis stabilization.
  • Conducts suicide risk assessments and develops treatment plans.
  • Leads groups.
  • Assists the Director in program development, policy and procedure development, compliance with WACs and RCWS, and other administrative tasks as directed.
