About The Position

Mental/Behavioral Health Technician (PRN) at Provo Canyon School, a 24/7 secure behavioral health treatment center for adolescents aged 13 through 17. The center coaches, teaches, and mentors students with psychiatric disorders, aiming to provide treatment that results in positive changes, allowing these youth to return to their families and communities. The role involves serving as a positive role model, providing close supervision, documenting observations, and supporting students in meeting their daily goals, including hygiene, unit activities, education, and therapy meetings. The technician will also confidently intervene during student crises using verbal de-escalation skills and personal safety techniques, and educate students on appropriate behavior and possible outcomes using positive verbal skills and coaching.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Must be a minimum 21 years of age
Conflict resolution skills, resiliency and patience
Ability to pass criminal history background check and drug screen

Preference to candidates who are available for evening or weekend shifts.
