This position provides patient care to adolescents with acute and chronic mental health problems. The role involves assisting in therapeutic interventions, coordinating services, and working closely with a treatment team to develop and implement care plans. The Mental Health Technician will observe patients, utilize therapeutic communication, and role model de-escalation techniques. Direct supervision and behavioral health interventions will be provided to patients in the inpatient adolescent care unit under the direction of a Nurse. Maintaining appropriate records and assisting patients with daily activities are also key responsibilities. The role may also involve providing clinical supervision to peer technicians and participating in community outreach and educational efforts.
