About The Position

Bloom Health Centers is seeking a full-time Mental Health Technician (MHT) for our Richmond, VA location. Bloom Health Centers provides innovative, evidence-based mental health treatments to patients across the Mid-Atlantic region, including Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Spravato® therapy. The Mental Health Technician (MHT) is responsible for delivering neuromodulation treatments, including Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Spravato support, while also assisting with administrative and operational tasks within the office. This role supports both patient treatment and office workflow. The individual will administer treatments according to physician protocols and assist with administrative responsibilities related to neuromodulation programs and office operations when not actively providing treatments. Our Mental Health Technician (MHT) works closely with psychiatric providers to ensure treatments are delivered safely, accurately, and with a strong focus on patient comfort and support and serves as a key bridge between clinical treatment programs and office operations.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of experience in mental health, healthcare, or patient care environment
  • Ability to work with patients experiencing depression, anxiety, and related conditions
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, and work with a team
  • Ability to maintain professional appearance and demeanor, and interface compassionately and appropriately with patients in a mental-health setting

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Completion of TMS training provided by Bloom Health Centers during initial period of employment
  • Occasional travel between nearby Bloom Health Centers locations may be required to support operational or clinical coverage needs.

Responsibilities

  • Administer TMS treatments according to physician protocols
  • Support Spravato treatment sessions and patient monitoring as required
  • Prepare and operate neuromodulation equipment and resolve issues
  • Monitor patient comfort and safety during treatment sessions
  • Document treatment sessions and patient progress in the EHR
  • Administer psychiatric rating scales and assessments as directed
  • Assist with neuromodulation treatment scheduling and outreach
  • Collaborate with provider(s) as required to schedule patient visits, consultations and patient discharges
  • Support insurance authorization processes for TMS and Spravato treatments
  • Coordinate with physicians and clinical leadership regarding treatment plans
  • Maintain treatment documentation and ensure accurate charting
  • Assist with patient check-in/out when needed
  • Support scheduling and administrative workflows during periods of lower treatment volume
  • Help maintain organization of clinical and administrative records
  • Answer and triage incoming phone calls, email, and fax communications
  • Support efficient front office workflow and operations
  • Assist with maintaining organized patient records and documentation
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings and operational discussions
  • Provide friendly, respectful, compassionate, and accurate support to patients in person, by phone, and via email
  • Ensure patients feel welcomed, respected, and informed throughout their interactions with the office
  • Address patient concerns or grievances with professionalism, empathy, and a solution-focused approach
  • Escalate complex patient issues to the Office Manager when appropriate
  • Other job duties as assigned
