About The Position

Brentwood Behavioral Healthcare is hiring Mental Health Technicians (MHT) for a full-time weekend position working Friday through Monday. The available shifts are Evening Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM and Overnight Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM, with an additional shift differential of up to $6.00 per hour. Candidates must be available to attend a 1-week orientation, Monday - Friday (8 AM - 5 PM). Brentwood Behavioral Healthcare is a provider of quality psychiatric treatment services for adults, children, and adolescents, offering both outpatient and inpatient services. The facility is a 133-bed acute psychiatric care facility located in Flowood, Mississippi, accredited by The Joint Commission and certified by Medicare, Medicaid, and TRICARE®. They treat conditions such as depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and schizophrenia. The Mental Health Technician position involves providing care to patients, promoting safety and comfort, assisting with daily living activities, and aiding in crisis intervention. The role works closely with other clinical staff and plays a part in ensuring the patient program schedule is conducted as planned.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s Degree in Mental Health related field
Two years of experience in the mental health field (psychiatric/inpatient or outpatient setting).

Responsibilities

Supervises and assist patients with activities of daily living (ADL) (hygiene, meals, laundry) as needed.
Actively supervise patients in all daily activities while documenting patients’ behaviors, conditions & progress in a manner prescribed by policy and clinical standards.
Ensure programing is occurring according to schedule.
Take and record vital signs, both manually and with equipment.
Follow the therapeutic interventions outlined by the treatment team for each patient and maintain awareness of patient's individualized plan of care including goals and intervention.
