About The Position

The Mental Health Technician delivers high-quality, patient-centered care by performing delegated basic patient care services related to behavioral health nursing functions and activities of daily living. Under the supervision of a registered nurse, the technician assists nursing staff in providing care according to their skills and training and the department’s needs. The technician also helps maintain a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment, complies with hospital policies and procedures, and observes State Board of Nursing rules for unlicensed personnel.

Requirements

• Obtain Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date.
• Obtain Nonviolent Crisis Intervention within 60 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Perform delegated basic patient care services related to behavioral health nursing functions and activities of daily living.
• Assist nursing staff in providing patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse and according to the technician’s skills and training and department needs.
• Help maintain a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment.
• Comply with hospital policies and procedures and observe State Board of Nursing rules for unlicensed personnel.
