About The Position

Meridell Achievement Center is seeking a motivated and compassionate Mental Health Technician (MHT) to provide direct care and supervision to children and adolescents in a residential treatment setting. The role supports patients in achieving their goals and overcoming challenges while helping ensure their safety and well-being. The technician works collaboratively with the treatment team and provides support and education to patients and their families.

Requirements

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Valid Texas Driver's License and a good driving record for transporting patients.
• Must be at least 21 years old to apply.
• Ability to pass a drug screen and state background test.

Nice To Haves

• Some college preferred.
• Experience working with children and adolescents in a mental health setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized support to children and adolescents, including assistance with daily living activities, meal preparation, and medication administration.
• Monitor patient behavior, mood, and emotional state, and report changes or concerns to the treatment team.
• Assist with patient transportation to and from appointments and activities as needed.
• Ensure patient safety and well-being, including monitoring sleep patterns and responding to emergency situations.
• Collaborate with the treatment team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Educate and support patients and families on mental health issues, coping strategies, and life skills.
