About The Position

Mental Health Services (MHS) is seeking Mental Health Technicians (MHT) for their Youth Challenges Program in Springfield, OH. Youth Challenges is a day treatment program designed for children aged 5-17, providing a safe environment for care and therapy services. As a Youth MHT, you will be instrumental in establishing and maintaining a therapeutic milieu and treatment processes for youth clients within a classroom-style setting in the day treatment programs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent with 3 years of behavioral/mental health experience (if not holding an Associate's or Bachelor's degree).
• Ability to be credentialed as a QMHS (Qualified Mental Health Specialist).
• CPR/First Aid certification (will be provided upon hire).
• NVCI certification (will be provided upon hire).
• Ohio BCI check (FBI check required if you have lived in Ohio for less than 5 years, or for working with children).
• 5-panel drug screen.
• 2 step TB test (or proof of prior TB) upon conditional offer of employment for residential candidates.

Nice To Haves

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a mental health or social services field.
• Experience in mental or behavioral health (preferred for candidates with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree).

Responsibilities

• Participate in establishing and maintaining a therapeutic milieu and treatment processes for youth clients in a classroom style setting.
• Participate in groups with kids.
• Ensure the safety of youth clients.
• Help engage youth clients with short and long term goals.
