About The Position

The Mental Health Tech, under the supervision of the Team leader/Manager, and the Nurse Practitioner Unit Supervisor, provides group and individual behavioral interventions to patients in a Behavioral Health setting. This role includes various duties and actively supports the mission statement of Mercy Behavioral Health. The position may include day and evening hours.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant Behavioral health field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with children.
  • TACT within 90 days
  • CPR within 90 days

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Responsibilities

  • Collects patient data and documents in the medical record.
  • Assists therapist with group management and behavioral interventions.
  • Provides patient treatments as ordered.
  • Documents care provided in the medical record.
  • Observes patients and reports behaviors or treatment concerns to the therapist, Nurse Practitioner or Team Lead/Manager.
  • Maintains supplies, including scanning, stocking and ordering new supplies and disposing of expired or damaged supplies.
  • Participates in department and unit performance improvement activities.
  • Assists with cleaning and organizing the programming rooms.
